Four Finalists for President at Two Community Colleges

Jennifer Garrison, a former state representative from Ohio’s 93rd House district, is one of five finalists for the presidency of Washington State Community College in Marietta, Ohio. Garrison. who holds a law degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., served three terms in the Ohio House.

Irene Cravey, vice president for student learning at Texas State Technical College in Marshall is the only other women among the five finalists. Cravey earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Texas Wesleyan University, a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Kimberly Perry

At Las Positas College in Livermore, California, two women are among seven finalists for president. Kimberly Perry is vice president of academic affairs at Los Angeles City College. Dr. Perry holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California and an educational doctorate from the University of the Pacific.

Kindred Murillo is vice chancellor of administrative services for the Contra Costa Community College District. Dr. Murillo holds a bachelor’s degree from Redlands University and a master’s degree and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.

Update: On Monday May 16, Kimberly Perry was named president of Butte College in Oroville, California.
