Xavier University in Cincinnati has entered into an agreement with the Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education resulting from several complaints filed by women students who had been sexually assaulted.
Under the agreement, the university will pay for counseling for a student who was assaulted. In addition, the university has agreed to institute training programs for staff members who deal with sexual assault cases and the Office for Civil Rights will require strict reporting requirements for the university to ensure that is complying with federal law.
