Three Women Appointed to New Teaching Positions

Patricia K. Ravert was promoted to full professor at the College of Nursing at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She joined the faculty at the university in 1999.

Dr. Ravert was the valedictorian of her class at Brigham Young University. She also earned a master’s degree at BYU and a doctorate at the University of Utah.

Cynthia Timmerman was appointed lecturer of accounting at North Dakota State University’s College of Business. A certified public accountant, previously she worked for the accounting firm Deloitte and also for the Good Samaritan Society.

Timmerman is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and holds a master’s degree in business taxation from the University of Southern California.

Alison Bass was named assistant professor of journalism at West Virginia University. She has previously taught at Mount Holyoke College, Brandeis University, and Boston University. She is the author of the award-winning book Side Effects: A Prosecutor, a Whistleblower, and a Bestselling Antidepressant on Trial (Algonquin Books, 2008).

Bass is a graduate of Brandeis University and holds a master’s degree from Harvard University.
