In Memoriam: Susan Hall Vogel, 1931-2012

Susan H. Vogel, a psychotherapist who served on the staff of the Harvard University Health services for 27 years, died late last month at her home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was 81 years old and had been suffering from breast cancer.

Vogel also served as a field supervisor for the Simmons School of Social Work. She was a student of Japanese society and culture and had recently completed a book entitled Japan’s Changing Family: 50 Years of Professional Housewives.

Susan Vogel was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas. She earned a master’s degree in sociology from Northwestern University and a master of social work degree from Simmons College.
